Consultation
Rates
Dr
Lynette Hatherley’s clinic is private and not a bulk billing
clinic.
For
a first appointment, an hour is generally set aside and the fee is
$260, with the Medicare rebate usually being $118 and out of pocket
expense $142. If
the appointment takes less than an hour, the fee will be less.
Sometimes more time is needed and the fee is higher. For example the
fee for a 90 minute consultation is $330. Fees
are reduced for patients with healthcare cards- a 1 hour
consultation costs $200 and 90 minute consultation is $260.
Why
are appointments so long?
Dr
Hatherley takes a comprehensive history from childhood (important
because, for example, lots of antibiotics can have long term effects
on the gut). This covers not just physical conditions but also
psychological stressors and trauma, which can have significant
impacts on a person’s physical as well as mental health. It also
includes exploring exposure to environmental toxins. After taking a
history, Dr Hatherley does a thorough physical examination and then
formulates a plan to address underlying causes and issues, as well as more obvious conditions.
